Born July 25th 1989, Andrew Orlando Cabassa an artist still brand new to the game, is already making noise. The born and
raised bronx native began recording songs in July of 2009 at twenty years old. Throughout his entire life, Dru excelled in
expressing himself thru art whether it was drawing, poetry, or any other form of creative writing.
But it wasnt until he hit the age of 19 that a friend suggested the transition to spoken word and give rapping a try. For
about 8 months, Dru wrote a verse a day trying to perfect his craft. The experienced poet found a bridge between his creative
writing skills and the microphone when he was introduced to an up and coming recording artist from the bronx, Malik Elus Sinclair.
Elus runs a recording studio and has been doing so for ten years strong.
The more time Dru spent around Elus, the more Dru learned about what hip-hop really was. The first song Dru recorded at
Elus studio was titled Dru is a Monster, and it just stuck, now even at his workplace they call him Dru the monster. His writing
and recording skills developed so rapidly that even Elus cant believe it. In the 8 months that Dru has been rapping hes recorded
2-3 songs a week and now has over 70 tracks completed.
On March 19th, 2010 Dru dropped his debut mixtape Monsters Ink. The 17 songs are compiled of his best work so far ranging
from storytelling to club bangers, Making it very easy to see how adaptable he really is on a beat. Its safe to say that Dru
the monster Cabassa is a natural, and was destined to pick up a microphone. The sky is now the limit for the young emcee.
